The collaboration marks a significant shift in how the Forum manages its digital footprint in China. Tencent Cloud is utilizing its proprietary Cloud Streaming Services to broadcast 53 forum sessions across four channels, ensuring low-latency delivery for viewers. To maintain a resilient link between the Dalian venue and the organization's Geneva headquarters, the company is deploying its StreamLink technology for secure, cross-continental signal transmission.
Beyond streaming, the partnership introduces the World Economic Forum’s first official Weixin/WeChat Mini Program. By integrating event services into the super-app ecosystem, organizers aim to provide participants and local audiences with streamlined access to schedules and interactive features. Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President of Tencent Cloud, described the initiative as a commitment to scalable digital environments that facilitate global connectivity. This engagement serves as a pilot for a broader strategic cooperation between Tencent and the Forum, signaling plans for deeper, long-term collaboration on future initiatives within the Chinese market.
