Destiny’s Child Reportedly Discussing a 2027 Album

A group chat may have helped restart plans for Destiny’s Child: Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are reportedly writing material for a possible album in 2027, according to sources quoted by the Daily Mail. The report follows recent reunion appearances and renewed attention to the group’s unreleased recordings.

The idea reportedly took shape last year after Rowland toured with Brandy and Monica. TikTok clips featuring Williams’ and Monica’s vocals on Destiny’s Child songs reminded the singers of fans’ appetite for R&B, the report said. The trio are said to be sharing ideas in a group chat and writing songs themselves.

Williams is reportedly leading the effort and introducing Beyoncé and Rowland to gospel artists and vocal arrangers. A source said Beyoncé misses her former bandmates and sees this as “the right time” to reunite. The source also linked her interest to Jay-Z’s recent celebrations of milestones and anniversaries.

Rowland addressed reunion speculation after Jay-Z was announced as the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl. Asked whether Destiny’s Child might appear during his performance, she said: “That’s none of my business. That’s his performance. That’s none of my business,” according to The Blast.

Another possible release is separate from the reported new album. Matthew Knowles, the group’s former manager and Beyoncé’s father, said the archives include 10 to 15 urban and dance remixes of the group’s hits, as well as previously unheard tracks. “It’s time to share that,” he said. He suggested the collection could include appearances by rappers, including Missy Elliott.

Destiny’s Child released five studio albums, received 14 Grammy nominations and won three awards. The members announced their split in June 2005 during the “Destiny Fulfilled… and Lovin’ It” tour, telling an audience of 16,000 in Spain they would go their separate ways after the tour. They have reunited for special appearances since. At the 2025 grand finale of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour, Rowland and Williams joined her for the “Mute Challenge” and performed “Bootylicious” and “Lose My Breath.”
