Shopping Assistant App Joko Expands into U.S. Market

After securing a user base of six million in Europe, the AI-driven shopping platform Joko is launching in the United States. The application integrates price tracking, automatic coupon application, and cash-back rewards, aiming to consolidate the fragmented online research process into a single, personalized shopping interface.

The platform distinguishes itself through its proprietary AI assistant, Juno, which processes data from over 50 million products. By leveraging insights from 40,000 merchants and analyzing historical transaction patterns, the tool intends to guide users from initial product discovery to final checkout. CEO Xavier Starkloff positions the app as a specialized alternative to general-purpose AI models like Gemini or ChatGPT, focusing specifically on consumer purchasing intent rather than broad information retrieval.

Joko enters a domestic market where consumer adoption of AI-assisted shopping is already accelerating. According to recent McKinsey and Adobe research, a significant portion of U.S. shoppers utilize generative AI for product research and deal hunting, yet few existing platforms successfully bridge the gap between discovery and transaction. With a reported 7.8% conversion rate for partner merchants, the company is betting that its combination of automated savings and high-intent product matching will gain traction against established e-commerce habits. The app is currently available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
