The company’s latest findings highlight a disconnect between available efficiency tools and their adoption. A peer-reviewed study conducted with Boston University, which analyzed 95 barriers across 880 academic sources, concluded that retrofit delays are rooted in workforce, permitting, and financing limitations. According to Pankaj Sharma, Executive Vice President of Software & Services at Schneider Electric, the firm is positioning its AI-layer and cooling technologies as practical solutions to bridge this gap, emphasizing that resilience is a result of improved decision-making rather than singular capital investments.

Beyond building management, the firm addressed the resource demands of the AI boom. A new white paper, "Water Usage at AI Scale," demonstrates that design choices significantly dictate utility consumption. In a 100 MW data center model, shifting from air-cooled systems to optimized liquid-cooled architecture reduced annual on-site water use by 48% in Dallas and 53% in Paris. To scale these practices, Schneider Electric has entered a strategic partnership with Lenovo, extending its Decarbonization Champion program to over 860 partners to help standardize carbon management and supply-chain emissions tracking.
