The analysis, derived from Florida Department of Education data, places Florida Poly ahead of the University of Florida and Florida State University, which reported median earnings of $78,600 and $72,800, respectively. These results underscore a sustained trajectory for the institution, which also leads the system in median wages just one year after degree completion.
Florida Poly’s president, Dr. Devin Stephenson, attributes this performance to a curriculum that integrates rigorous classroom instruction with direct industry application. As the state’s only public university dedicated exclusively to STEM, the school mandates internships and capstone projects for all students. According to Beth Kigel, chair of the Board of Trustees, these requirements facilitate early professional relationships, allowing students to bridge the gap between academic theory and the demands of high-growth sectors like cybersecurity and engineering.
