Some followers took the phrase as a hint that the pair had secretly married. “Are you guys married?? You called her wife…OMG…no wedding…??? I need details,” one commenter asked. Others praised the nickname or asked directly whether Gamble had married Jenner. Jenner replied, “I love you,” and her daughter Khloe Kardashian called the tribute “sweet.”
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE in September that they were “great partners for each other” and comfortable spending time apart while pursuing their own interests. The source described Gamble as “a very grounding force” who is “steady and caring,” and said the pair had never talked about marriage: “They are happy where they are right now.”
Jenner left the possibility open during an April appearance on Khloe’s “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast. Asked whether she would consider marrying Gamble, she first said, “No,” then added, “You never know.
