The integration replaces the traditional redirect model—which frequently causes user drop-off—with a seamless payment sheet that functions entirely within the Tangem ecosystem. By keeping the checkout process inside the app, Tangem aims to provide a user experience comparable to standard e-commerce transactions. Assets are sent directly to the user’s self-custodial address upon confirmation.
Arthur Firstov, Chief Business Officer at Mercuryo, noted that the move is designed to bridge the usability gap between custodial platforms and self-custody solutions. Marcos Nunes, Head of Tangem Pay, added that the update removes lengthy checkout flows, allowing users to manage their assets without leaving the Tangem interface. The feature is available immediately for iOS users who update to the latest version of the Tangem app, while Android users continue to access Mercuryo services via existing card and bank transfer methods.
