The new facility features eight 15,000-liter stainless-steel bioreactors designed to meet rigorous cGMP standards. By integrating an automated Manufacturing Control System and advanced bioprocessing technologies like perfusion and higher-titer cell culture, the company aims to optimize production efficiency. These digital systems, paired with an automated warehouse, are intended to ensure long-term manufacturing stability for commercial-scale projects.
This development strengthens a dual-site strategy that connects the Songdo campus with the existing Syracuse Bio Campus in New York. While the U.S. facility focuses on early-stage clinical supply, the Songdo plant will handle large-scale commercial volumes. CEO James Park noted that the project's accelerated timeline reflects the strategic collaboration within the LOTTE Group. The company is now transitioning toward full-scale commissioning and GMP validation, with production systems expected to be operational in the second half of this year.
