Fire Commissioner Patrick Dearborn Backs Michael Carbonara for Congress

Patrick Dearborn, the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District Commissioner and Army veteran, has officially endorsed Michael Carbonara for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District. The move bolsters Carbonara’s campaign, adding a prominent Collier County voice to a coalition that spans the state’s southwest coast and the broader South Florida region.

Dearborn, who served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1986 to 1989, cited Carbonara’s commitment to public safety and veterans' affairs as the primary drivers behind his support. The endorsement follows a recent appearance by Carbonara on Dearborn’s podcast, 'Next Question?' where the two discussed the candidate’s platform. Dearborn emphasized that his support is provided in an individual capacity, distinct from his official roles on the fire board or the Collier County Planning Commission.

This addition expands a donor and endorsement network that already includes figures such as Weston Mayor Peggy Brown, businessman Alfie Oakes, and various regional Republican organizations. Carbonara, an entrepreneur with a background in technology and finance, is positioning his campaign around affordability and constitutional advocacy. For Carbonara, the backing of a first responder with a military pedigree serves as a strategic marker of credibility as he navigates the geography of the newly drawn 22nd District.
