Santa Fe Indian Market Returns for 104th Year of Indigenous Art

Nearly 1,000 artists representing over 200 Tribal nations from across the United States and Canada will gather at the historic Santa Fe Plaza this August. The 104th Santa Fe Indian Market, the world’s oldest juried Native American art showcase, anchors a week of cultural programming scheduled for August 15–16, 2026.

Organized by the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA), this year’s event operates under the theme "Empowered Resilience—Centuries in the Making." The program highlights the continuity of Native traditions, moving beyond the central art market to include the Get Indigenous Film Festival, a series of educational roundtables, and the signature Native Fashion Show.

Events begin in the days leading up to the market, with ticketed previews at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center allowing collectors early access to award-winning works. The weekend festivities transition into a broader celebration of Indigenous culture, featuring a gala, live auctions, and public demonstrations. The fashion show, held Sunday afternoon, remains one of the market's most anticipated gatherings, spotlighting both established designers and emerging talent in contemporary Indigenous apparel.
