Hanshow positions Store Digital Twin as retail's future operating system

At NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show Europe, Hanshow is shifting the conversation from simple AI deployment to building a unified operational foundation. By creating a Store Digital Twin, the company aims to provide the necessary framework for retailers to harmonize real-time physical sensing, intelligent decision-making, and automated execution.

While retailers have embraced generative AI for recommendations, physical environments remain notoriously difficult to manage. Shelves, inventory, and consumer patterns fluctuate constantly, creating a gap between digital intelligence and physical reality. Hanshow addresses this by linking products, assets, and processes into a single, cohesive digital ecosystem.

Scaling intelligent retail operations

The technology relies on frontline hardware like NexShelf sensors and NexMate robotics to capture live data, which is then processed by AI engines like xPilot. This setup allows retailers to move beyond mere visibility toward autonomous management. A notable implementation with Chinese retailer Rainbow demonstrates this: by combining Hanshow’s sensing hardware with Lingzhi’s analytics, the firms automated out-of-stock monitoring and replenishment tasks. This shift replaces manual oversight with data-driven workflows, signaling a broader industry transition toward platforms that treat the entire store as a connected, responsive operating system.
