On October 24, Us Weekly reported that Brady and Swanepoel had been dating “for a while.” An unnamed insider told the outlet they had been seeing each other since spring and were trying to keep the relationship private. A later source said Brady and Smalls had been involved on and off for about a year between 2023 and 2024, describing it as a casual relationship that continued with contact afterward.
Us Weekly reported on October 28 that Smalls felt “blindsided” by news of Brady and Swanepoel’s reported romance. The source said Smalls had confided in Swanepoel about her relationship with Brady and viewed the situation as a breach of “girl code.” Whether Smalls knew about the reported romance before it became public is unclear.
Speculation about a falling-out grew after the models both appeared at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15 but were not photographed together. Smalls was also reported to have posted—and later deleted—comments about “backstabbers” and “girl code.” Swanepoel’s representative said the two shared a longstanding history and a friendship she would always respect.
