Stewart shared the advice on Bee Line, a social series from dating app Bumble, where callers discuss real-world dating dilemmas with people experienced in relationships. She said a feeling that something is “a little off-kilter” should not be rationalized away. Stewart also advises people to take their time dating, set boundaries and understand what they want. She described those standards as a “relationship resume.”
Stewart and McGraw dated for about a year before separating and pursuing other relationships. They got back together ten years later. Stewart said an ex should not be a rebound or a way to escape loneliness, and that a history of toxicity, mistreatment or unfaithfulness rules out reconciliation. But if two people drifted apart when they were young, she said, they may be able to reconnect after growing into better versions of themselves.
McGraw posted a photo of the pair in February 2020, prompting dating speculation. The next month, Stewart confirmed their relationship and said they had been dating for three months. McGraw proposed about three months after that confirmation. They announced a pregnancy the following month and married in an intimate ceremony in December 2020, according to PEOPLE. Their daughter, Row Renggli, was born in February 2021; they announced they were expecting a second child seven months later. Their son, Grey Oliver, was born the day after Row’s first birthday.
Before marrying McGraw, Stewart was married to Brendan Fitzpatrick. They began dating in 2013, wed in 2016 and separated in 2019. Stewart cited growing apart in announcing the split, and their divorce was finalized in 2020. Both Stewart and NBCUniversal executive Bryce Kristensen denied rumors that they had an affair while she was married to Fitzpatrick. Kristensen said they were friends and colleagues, and Stewart told Page Six the same.
