The shortlist features projects ranging from waste reduction to circular economy logistics. Gatekeeper Systems and Morrisons earned a spot for their intelligent trolley retention programme, which successfully reduced trolley losses by 67% in trial stores, effectively cutting annual CO2 emissions by 87.4 tonnes. Similarly, Pricer and Company Shop Group leveraged electronic shelf labels to manage surplus food pricing dynamically, driving a 5% productivity boost while minimizing food waste.
Other finalists address the challenges of unsold goods and product lifecycles. Minimist is recognized for its platform that helps charity retailers digitize and sell donated stock, having already diverted 44.6 tonnes of material from landfills. Meanwhile, the partnership between SharkNinja and Ingram Micro Lifecycle has established a robust circular economy for small appliances, successfully refurbishing over 83% of returned products across Europe and North America. These finalists will now face a judging panel tasked with selecting the ultimate winners for the upcoming ceremony.
