Morrisons overhauls store operations with Logile software rollout

Morrisons is replacing manual spreadsheets with Logile’s automated planning software to streamline operations across its UK supermarkets, convenience stores, and logistics network. The retailer aims to replace time-consuming administrative tasks with data-driven insights, allowing store managers to dedicate more time to supporting colleagues and serving customers.

The implementation utilizes Logile’s Enterprise Standards Manager to define specific labor requirements for every operation. By integrating workload planning modules, the retailer can convert store tasks into precise operational requirements, while Enterprise Performance Dashboards provide leadership with a unified view of the entire estate. This digital transition is supported by FrontlineXP, a partner tasked with ensuring the software functions effectively across diverse store formats.

Alex Rose, Head of Productivity at Morrisons, emphasized that the goal is to create a consistent, reliable foundation for staff scheduling. Because large supermarkets and smaller convenience sites require different operational rhythms, the system is designed to flex according to local needs. James Freshwater, Vice President at Logile, noted that the initiative hinges on standardizing the definition of daily work, a move he believes is essential for grocers looking to improve efficiency at scale.
