Lightstar’s expansion arrives as Illinois updates its regulatory landscape to meet a goal of 100% clean energy by 2050. Recent policies, including the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, have paved the way for co-located projects up to 10 MW and new statewide storage targets. By managing the full origination-to-operation cycle, the company aims to streamline the transition for landowners, offering site assessments to determine the feasibility of standalone battery storage or dual-use solar arrays on existing agricultural parcels.
