Greenland Energy Extends Jameson Land Drilling Deadline to 2028

Under the terms of the revised agreement, Greenland Energy assumes direct responsibility for securing and maintaining all necessary drilling permits for the Jameson Land Basin. This shift is intended to streamline the permitting process, with 80 Mile plc providing auxiliary support for other government consents. In exchange for these concessions, Greenland Energy will pay 80 Mile a fee of £500,000 within five business days of the effective date.

Chief Executive Officer Robert Price stated that the amendment creates a necessary framework to align the project’s timeline with the realities of the regulatory environment. The company, which is currently focused on unlocking hydrocarbon potential across its 2 million-acre licensed area, maintains that the core Farm-Out Agreement remains intact. This extension preserves the operational groundwork already established while allowing the firm to coordinate more closely with regional stakeholders and authorities.
