Fortrade Alerts Public to Fraudulent Clone Website

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a formal warning regarding fortradelimited.com, an unauthorized website impersonating the regulated broker Fortrade Limited. By hijacking the reputation of the firm, the clone entity targets unsuspecting consumers, prompting the genuine company to urge investors to verify all credentials through official regulatory channels.

CEO Chris Warburton stated that the firm is treating the impersonation as a priority, noting that such scams thrive on the confusion created by mimicking legitimate brands. The FCA has confirmed that the fraudulent site has no connection to the authorized firm, which operates under the Firm Reference Number 609970. Investors are encouraged to cross-reference contact information using the FCA’s official Firm Checker tool instead of relying on details provided in unsolicited messages.

The risks of engaging with an unauthorized entity are severe. Victims of such clone firms lose access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, leaving them without recourse or recovery options should the entity fail. While the genuine operations of Fortrade Limited remain unaffected, the company emphasizes that impersonation is a growing threat across the financial sector. Consumers who suspect they have been approached by the clone site should report the interaction directly to the FCA at 0800 111 6768.
