Chemours Expands Cooling Portfolio for AI-Driven Data Centers

The expansion comes as operators of data centers and commercial buildings face mounting pressure to balance high heat loads with strict uptime requirements and decarbonization goals. Joseph Martinko, President of Thermal & Specialized Solutions at Chemours, noted that these products provide chiller OEMs with necessary options to maintain system reliability in a rapidly shifting technological landscape.

Opteon™ ZE, an HFO-based refrigerant, targets high-performance needs with an ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) of approximately 1 and zero ozone depletion potential. Classified as ASHRAE A2L, it is engineered for water- and air-cooled chillers. In contrast, Opteon™ 515B serves as an A1-classified, non-flammable alternative with a GWP of 293, offering a straightforward transition path for operators moving away from higher-impact refrigerants. Both products are available immediately in strategic markets to support the growing demand for scalable cooling infrastructure.
