Viralam’s appointment signals a push by Newmark to integrate its consulting and financial services divisions more tightly with its brokerage operations. Working alongside Jason Perla and Romel Cañete, he will focus on optimizing occupancy strategies and lease negotiations for institutional investors and global corporate tenants. The group is positioned to act as a force multiplier for Newmark’s existing brokers, providing the research and technical depth required to close large-scale deals.
Newmark CEO Barry Gosin emphasized that the firm is prioritizing investment in consulting to meet client demand for long-term planning before transactions are finalized. Viralam, who was twice named Professional of the Year during his tenure at CBRE, brings nearly two decades of experience in navigating complex corporate real estate requirements. His move to Newmark is part of a broader effort by the firm to scale its advisory capabilities as it competes for market share in the commercial real estate sector.
