According to the complaint, the firm failed to disclose that patients were migrating to competitors at this account, a trend that disproportionately impacted revenue because these customers were not covered by preferred payer plans. The complaint further contends that management obscured broader retail channel weakness, where patients increasingly shifted toward lower-cost purchasing options that excluded Embecta products.
These combined headwinds culminated in a $75 million guidance cut, with pen needle revenue accounting for $53 million of the shortfall.
