Greenberg Traurig Expands London Real Estate Practice

Greenberg Traurig has recruited Patrick Williams and Freya Dear as shareholders for its London office, marking a significant escalation in the firm’s U.K. growth strategy. The appointments follow the firm’s recent recognition as Real Estate Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards, solidifying its position in the competitive capital market.

Williams joins from Fried Frank, bringing deep expertise in corporate-structured acquisitions and multifamily developments. Dear, who will transition to the firm following her notice period, specializes in complex commercial transactions and cross-border investment strategies. Their arrival complements the recent addition of Simon Elliott from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, contributing to a broader expansion that has seen over 20 shareholder hires in London since the start of 2024.

Executive Chairman Richard A. Rosenbaum noted that London remains a cornerstone of the firm’s cross-border investment strategy. According to London Managing Shareholder Fiona Adams, the firm continues to prioritize an entrepreneurial culture to attract top-tier talent. These hires provide clients with expanded capacity for managing the full real estate life cycle, from initial structuring and financing to asset management and final exit strategies.
