Robin Mahapatra Joins Kutak Rock in Washington D.C.

Mahapatra brings extensive experience in counseling tax credit investors and developers on specialized programs, including the New Markets Tax Credit, Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit, and both Production and Investment Tax Credits. His practice focuses on the intricacies of tax equity structures and the transfer of tax credits, an area Scott DeMartino, head of the firm's D.C. tax credit practice, describes as essential for the firm’s deal teams. Beyond his work with tax credits, Mahapatra advises on debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and the formation of venture capital funds.

His client portfolio spans national banks, private equity funds, and renewable energy developers. Before this appointment, Mahapatra held positions at a Big Four accounting firm and international law firms in New York and California. He holds an LL.M. from New York University, an M.B.T. and J.D. from the University of Southern California, and is licensed to practice in California, New York, and Washington, D.C.
