Karla Scott Named Head of Cargo and Logistics at MSIG USA

Scott joins the firm from The Hartford, where she managed logistics product strategy and marine operations for the Western region. Her career history includes leadership positions at Allianz, Alterra, and Markel, specifically focused on building underwriting organizations and managing intricate cargo portfolios. In her new capacity, she will report directly to Dennis Marvin, the Head of Marine for MSIG USA, and oversee underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and market engagement.

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Scott is a recognized figure in the industry, having contributed to various committees for the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU). MSIG USA CEO Peter McKenna noted that the hire aligns with the firm's broader strategy to expand its specialty talent pool and improve data-driven insurance solutions. The company currently operates as a subsidiary of the global MS&AD Insurance Group, maintaining a presence across 48 countries.
