Hulu’s Looksmaxxing Documentary Shifts Focus From Clavicular

The 20-year-old influencer known as Clavicular spent months threatening legal action to block a Hulu documentary, only to discover the project was never about him. While he appears briefly in “Get Huge: Looksmaxxing to Death,” the series centers on the dark, fatal consequences of the biohacking subculture he helped popularize.

Directed by Stacey Lee and executive produced by Adam McKay, the three-part series debuts November 10 on Hulu and Disney+. Instead of tracking a single streamer, the project investigates the deaths of fitness influencers in Thailand, including Laith Abdullah Algaz, known as Leo & Longevity, and Connor Murphy. Murphy, who reportedly engaged in erratic behavior and risky substance experimentation before his death in July, serves as a primary case study for the film’s exploration of extreme physical transformation.

Clavicular, whose legal name is Braden Peters, previously served a cease-and-desist to filmmakers Jennings Brown and James Kristofik after being filmed at a New York Fashion Week event. He argued the footage was an invasion of privacy, but reports now confirm his presence is merely a footnote in a broader examination of the looksmaxxing industry. The documentary arrives at a precarious time for Peters, who pleaded not guilty in Massachusetts to charges of rape and drugging a person for sexual intercourse. As he awaits a November 24 hearing, the series stands to cast a harsh light on the online communities that propelled him to notoriety.
