The installation required significant engineering to survive the daily rigors of a cash-and-carry operation. To shield the hardware from stock movement and industrial handling, Pixel Inspiration partnered with UNICOL to develop custom protective shrouds that preserve necessary airflow for the screens. The chosen Sony BZ35L displays utilize Android-based System on Chip technology, which eliminates the need for bulky external media players and streamlines the technical footprint.
Management of the network runs through the DISE content management system, allowing for centralized campaign distribution across the national estate. Sony’s Remote Device Manager handles ongoing maintenance, including firmware updates and performance monitoring, which minimizes the requirement for onsite technical intervention. According to Karl Ingham of Sony Professional Displays and Solutions Europe, the project highlights the increasing versatility of digital signage in engaging customers within highly relevant, high-traffic retail spaces.
