Bond will continue to lead the organization for the next 18 months, maintaining his focus on current production targets and the integration of the Katanning Gold Project following the firm's acquisition of Ausgold. Upon his retirement, he plans to transition into a six-month role as a special advisor to the board and his successor to ensure continuity. The company has engaged the executive search firm Spencer Stuart to identify potential internal and external candidates for the position.
Chairman Paul Benson credited Bond with strengthening the company across all five pillars of its strategy, including production efficiency and financial health. OceanaGold currently operates four mines across the United States, New Zealand, and the Philippines, and the board expects the leadership transition to remain seamless as the company continues to deploy capital and generate cash flow.
