Bond, who joined the company in 2022, plans to retire in Australia following a three-decade career in the resources sector. To facilitate the transition, he will serve as a Special Advisor to the Board and his successor for six months after his official exit. During his leadership, OceanaGold saw a sustained improvement in its financial performance and the consolidation of its five-pillar corporate strategy.
Chairman Paul Benson credited Bond with steering the firm through a period of significant transformation. The Board has engaged international search firm Spencer Stuart to identify a successor, evaluating both internal and external candidates to ensure continuity. OceanaGold maintains a portfolio of four operating mines across the United States, New Zealand, and the Philippines, with management emphasizing that the leadership change is not expected to disrupt ongoing cash flow generation or shareholder returns.
