Nerrissa Williams Honored for Engineering Leadership at Disney

Williams built her foundation in industrial engineering at UC Berkeley before earning a master’s degree in engineering economic systems from Stanford University. Her transition into the corporate sector began at Price Waterhouse, but her trajectory shifted in 2001 when she joined a Disney consulting engagement. Impressed by the company's culture, she transitioned to a permanent role in 2005 after successfully architecting a new SAP release management function and supporting over 50,000 cast members during a massive enterprise rollout.

Her influence at Disney grew alongside her responsibility for critical platforms, including Workday, Coupa, and Informatica. In December 2023, she directed a pivotal SAP release that underpinned two major enterprise initiatives valued at a combined $170 million. Beyond her internal operations, Williams remains a fixture in STEM advocacy, mentoring students through organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers and Disney VoluntEARS. As she looks toward the future, she plans to integrate AI-driven efficiencies into the company’s release management framework while continuing to advise leadership on long-term technological strategy.
