Mokas Coffee & Eatery Debuts First Franchise Location in Olathe

The new 3,100-square-foot café represents a significant step for the Salina-born chain, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Coleman, the founder of Midwest Restaurant Group and a former professional tennis tournament director, plans to use the Olathe site as a flagship for his regional development. The project is expected to inject between 45 and 60 new jobs into the local economy.

To mark the arrival, the café will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the local Chamber of Commerce on September 30. Beyond the launch events, the business has committed to a charitable partnership with KidsTLC, pledging 10% of all 16 oz specialty drink sales during the first month of operation to the nonprofit. Jason Ingermanson, CEO of JRI Hospitality and President of Mokas, noted that Coleman’s background in hospitality-focused entrepreneurship aligns with the company’s broader goals for growth across the Midwest.
