Tilt pivots to short-form video with new shoppable Clips feed

Live shopping app Tilt has introduced Clips, a scrollable feed of short-form videos designed to facilitate instant transactions. The launch marks the company’s most significant product expansion since securing $26 million in funding from investors including TQ Ventures, Vinted Ventures, and Balderton.

The new feature moves beyond the platform's traditional live-stream model, allowing users to browse and purchase items in their own time. By leveraging artificial intelligence to automate video production and listing descriptions, Tilt claims users can create a sales post in under three seconds. The goal is to replicate the seamless discovery experience of platforms like TikTok or Instagram, but with a direct focus on commerce.

Neil Shah, co-founder at Tilt, argues that the shift addresses a growing deficit of trust in digital marketplaces. As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent, Shah believes that seeing a physical product in a real person's hands provides necessary verification for buyers. Early adopters, such as user Viraj Singhal, report that the automated listing process is significantly faster than traditional platforms like eBay, effectively turning casual shoppers into active sellers.
