A showrunner confirmed that they reached out to him repeatedly without receiving a response. Despite the behind-the-scenes friction, the reboot acknowledged the character of Max Russo on-screen, with Henrie’s character revealing that his brother had become a billionaire running the family’s sandwich shop chain.
