The lawsuit claims that PicS and its top executives knowingly issued misleading offering documents. According to the complaint, an internal review conducted in December 2025—weeks before the IPO—revealed that the company’s credit evaluation procedures were fundamentally flawed. These findings were allegedly omitted from public disclosures, masking rising default risks and a surge in non-performing loans.
Market confidence eroded following subsequent disclosures. On March 19, 2026, PicS reported R$590 million in loan reclassifications, triggering a 22.5% single-day stock price drop. By June, shares had collapsed more than 50% from the $19.00 IPO price. Reed Kathrein, a partner at Hagens Berman, stated the firm is investigating whether the company misrepresented its AI-driven underwriting models as competitive advantages while portfolio quality deteriorated. Investors affected by these losses have until August 4, 2026, to petition the court for a lead role in the ongoing litigation.
