The project spans 35,000 square meters, featuring a specialized 4,700-square-meter facility alongside a massive underground garage. Contractor GAT of Novi Sad has integrated the Penetron crystalline waterproofing system throughout the concrete structures to ensure long-term durability against groundwater exposure. This protective suite, including Penetron Admix and Penebar SW, creates an insoluble crystalline barrier within the concrete matrix to block moisture and chemical ingress.
Beyond its physical durability, the district serves a critical strategic role. Theodor Mentzikofakis, Managing Director of Penetron Hellas, noted that the facility ranks among the top eight globally for data protection standards and maintains a unique cooperation agreement with CERN. The site is designed to foster a collaborative ecosystem, drawing in the University of Kragujevac and the national Science Fund to support startups and research teams. As construction continues toward the final 2027 completion date for the central hub, the district is positioned to act as a primary catalyst for regional economic growth and foreign investment.
