Hendrik McDermott, Managing Director of International Direct to Consumer at NBC, described Muskoka as the ideal setting to capture the quintessential Canadian summer experience. Producing partner Erin Haskett of Vancouver-based Lark Productions emphasized that the new series will lean into the established formula of the franchise: authentic friendships and the high-stakes drama that unfolds when personalities are confined to a single house for an entire season.
The expansion comes after executives signaled a desire to replicate the specific narrative architecture that made the original Bravo series a success. Truly Original co-founder Steven Weinstock noted that the production team carefully vetted locations, rejecting shorter-duration formats like those used for Winter House in favor of a full-summer commitment. This strategy follows a high point for the brand, as the original series recently secured its first Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program category.
While the production team prepares for the Canadian launch, the original series is undergoing a significant cast shakeup. Reports indicate that long-time cast member Amanda Batula and season 8 addition West Wilson will not return for the upcoming eleventh season. As the franchise pivots toward international markets, the focus remains on finding the right chemistry to sustain the momentum that defined the show's recent, drama-heavy seasons.
