Infosys and Sentara Health Launch Enterprise AI Integration

Sentara Health has tapped Infosys to overhaul its digital infrastructure, aiming to transition artificial intelligence from experimental pilots into core clinical and operational workflows. The partnership seeks to leverage the Infosys Topaz Fabric platform to automate administrative tasks and support decision-making across the hospital system’s twelve facilities.

The collaboration focuses on embedding agentic services—software that autonomously manages infrastructure, data, and applications—directly into the daily routines of clinicians and staff. By utilizing the Infosys Topaz Fabric, Sentara plans to modernize its software development lifecycle and establish governance frameworks that ensure AI deployments remain compliant with healthcare regulations while maintaining a patient-centered focus.

Jamisson Fowler, Chief Digital Officer at Sentara, emphasized that the initiative is designed to improve care delivery while easing the burden on hospital teams. Venky Ananth, head of healthcare at Infosys, added that the project aims to move beyond theoretical applications by building a foundation that translates AI capabilities into measurable efficiency gains across the system’s digital and clinical domains.
