Jenkins arrives at the energy firm with over two decades of experience spanning corporate, political, and regulatory sectors. Her most recent tenure as Chief of Staff at the Mississippi Public Service Commission saw her managing policy priorities for a customer base exceeding 900,000 utility users. This background in state-level oversight is expected to anchor her efforts in shaping legislative frameworks that balance energy security with long-term decarbonization goals.

Deidra L. Jackson, Drax’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for North America, noted that the appointment aims to strengthen the company's rapport with regional policymakers. Beyond her public service work, Jenkins holds a diverse professional history, having held senior leadership positions at Pinterest, Walmart, and Caesars Entertainment, alongside early-career experience on Capitol Hill. She holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Mississippi, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Tougaloo College.
