Africa Tech Festival 2026 Returns to Cape Town to Shape Digital Future

The continent’s longest-running technology gathering returns to the Cape Town International Convention Centre from November 16 to 19, 2026. Now in its 29th edition, the event serves as a strategic hub for government officials, industry leaders, and international investors to navigate the next phase of Africa's digital expansion.

South Africa's Department of Communications and Digital Technologies has reaffirmed its support as a strategic partner, with Minister Solly Malatsi scheduled to deliver the opening address. The festival aims to bridge the gap between policy and practice, focusing on the infrastructure and investment needed to fuel economic growth across the continent. Minister Malatsi emphasized the importance of the event in advancing a shared vision of an inclusive and globally competitive African digital economy.

The 2026 program is built upon six foundational pillars: Telecoms and Connectivity, Data Centres, AI, Cybersecurity, Startups, and Digital Transformation. These areas address critical challenges ranging from responsible AI adoption to the expansion of subsea cables and fiber networks. David Monaghan, VP of Africa Tech Festival, noted that the event provides a unique forum for telecoms operators and hyperscalers to address urgent questions regarding data sovereignty and infrastructure capacity. By hosting executive forums and networking sessions, the festival connects regional stakeholders with global capital to accelerate innovation.
