Florida Tourism Board Outlines Summer Travel Itineraries

From bioluminescent kayaking along the Space Coast to FIFA World Cup fan festivities in Miami, Florida is positioning itself as a diverse summer destination. The state’s official tourism marketing corporation, VISIT FLORIDA, has released a series of curated itineraries designed to accommodate families, sports enthusiasts, and nature travelers alike.

The state’s summer programming emphasizes unique outdoor experiences, including bay scalloping in Taylor County and Crystal River, which runs through September. Wildlife enthusiasts can also observe sea turtle nesting and hatchling releases along the Atlantic coast, with prime viewing opportunities at the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge and Juno Beach. These initiatives coincide with the state’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, featuring historical reenactments in St. Augustine and a dedicated docuseries highlighting Florida’s role in American history.

Sports tourism remains a primary focus, particularly with the arrival of the FIFA World Cup. Miami will host a 23-day public fan festival at Bayfront Park, while Orlando establishes watch parties at Wall Street Plaza. To facilitate movement between these hubs, officials are highlighting the Brightline train service, which provides a three-hour connection between Orlando and Miami. These efforts follow a record-setting 2025 for the state, which welcomed 143.3 million visitors and generated over $133 billion in economic impact, according to state data.
