The platform functions as a native extension of the company's existing software, consolidating inbound offers from load boards and email into a unified dashboard. According to Param Sandhu, CTO and co-founder of Chain, the agent mimics the analytical process of a seasoned carrier representative by cross-referencing historical lane rates and competing bids before responding to inquiries. The tool operates within broker-defined guardrails, pulling target and maximum rate data directly from the user's transportation management system to prevent unauthorized pricing.
Beyond simple automation, the agent manages carrier compliance by verifying DOT and MC numbers against existing monitoring tools. It employs a "plain-language" interface, allowing brokers to set coverage strategies using natural commands rather than complex workflow logic. When an offer falls outside pre-set parameters or requires human judgment, the system triggers a notification, providing the assigned representative with a full transcript of the prior conversation. The agent is currently available through an early access program, with a broader rollout planned for the coming months.
