DFI Brings Rugged Edge AI Systems to Automate 2026

At the Automate 2026 trade show in Chicago, DFI is unveiling a suite of industrial computing platforms designed to bring Physical AI from the cloud to the factory floor. The showcase highlights hardware capable of handling complex machine vision and real-time reasoning tasks in environments where failure is not an option.

The company is anchoring its debut with the ECX700-ADP, a rugged system that recently earned the 2026 Taiwan Excellence Award. Engineered for extreme conditions, the unit is rated for IP67 and IP69K protection against water, dust, and vibration. DFI is demonstrating its capabilities through a live PPE compliance monitor, which tracks worker safety gear in real time using an integrated MemeryX M.2 AI accelerator.

Beyond specialized rugged systems, DFI is emphasizing flexibility in industrial panel PCs. The KSX215P-EHL model offers high-pressure wash-down resistance, while the KS156P-MTH highlights I/O expandability through Hilscher’s cifX Mini PC Card series. These systems target the growing demand for seamless IIoT connectivity in smart production consoles.

For high-density requirements, DFI is collaborating with South Korean chip provider Mobilint to debut the RM310-RAP. This 1U rackmount server utilizes AMD processors and the MLA100 PCIe accelerator to handle both Vision AI and Vision-Language Models. The system is designed to perform contextual analysis for threat detection in space-constrained industrial and public safety settings. Attendees can view these demonstrations at McCormick Place through June 25.
