The New York-based firm surpassed its 50% emissions reduction goal for Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gases, achieving a 56% decrease compared to 2018 levels. Sustainability efforts also extended to resource management, with common area water usage dropping by 60% and electricity consumption falling by 57% on a like-for-like basis.
Beyond environmental metrics, the company reported strong internal and community performance. Employee satisfaction ratings remained above 95% for the third consecutive year, paired with a voluntary turnover rate capped at 10%. Community engagement efforts included sponsoring over 3,400 hours of service and hosting 190 events across their 344 shopping centers. Brixmor also secured top-tier marks for its corporate governance, earning a maximum score from ISS’s Governance QualityScore and a leading rating from Green Street for the second year running. CEO Brian Finnegan credited these results to integrating stewardship directly into the company’s core operational strategy.
