Mormon Wives Star Faces Backlash Over JFK Assassination Costume

McCall DaPron, an incoming cast member of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, triggered a wave of online criticism after posting family photos dressed as the Kennedys on the day of the 1963 assassination. The influencer disabled her Instagram comments less than 24 hours after the reveal.

The 36-year-old reality personality shared images on October 29 featuring her husband, Kirk, as John F. Kennedy and herself in the iconic pink skirt suit and pillbox hat worn by Jacqueline Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The couple included their four children in the tableau, with two dressed as Secret Service agents and two portraying the young Kennedy children.

Critics quickly condemned the choice as insensitive, arguing that trivializing a national tragedy for a holiday costume was in poor taste. One user highlighted the emotional weight of the imagery, noting that the outfit represents one of the most traumatic moments in the former First Lady’s life. DaPron has remained silent regarding the negative reception, opting to restrict engagement on the post rather than issuing a public statement. This controversy arrives just weeks before the November 12 premiere of her new series, which promises to spotlight the personal lives and social media presence of its cast.
