Maraynes spent the last six years at a New York defense litigation firm, building a portfolio that spans wrongful death, nursing home negligence, and complex construction litigation. With more than 40 trials to his credit, he has navigated courtrooms across all five boroughs of New York City and surrounding counties. His appointment strengthens Wilson Elser’s regional bench, which currently encompasses over 400 attorneys across New York City, White Plains, and Long Island.
Lori Semlies, cochair of the firm's Medical Malpractice & Health Care Practice, noted that Maraynes’ background in high-stakes casualty matters aligns with the firm’s strategy for handling technical defense cases. Before his initial stint at Wilson Elser, Maraynes served five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, where he prosecuted a range of violent crimes, including homicides. A member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, he holds a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
