OpenText is launching a €105 million expansion across its Cork and Galway sites, marking the largest investment in Ireland by a Canadian technology company. The project aims to add 400 high-skilled jobs over the next three years, focusing on the development of agentic AI, sovereign cloud, and cybersecurity infrastructure.

The initiative, announced in Dublin alongside Taoiseach Micheál Martin and IDA Ireland CEO Michael Lohan, doubles the company’s existing commitment to the region. The new roles will concentrate on R&D for EMEA markets, specifically targeting technologies that allow organizations to maintain control over data governance and cyber resilience in increasingly complex digital environments.

OpenText plans to utilize these regional hubs to advance multi-agent collaboration and system boundary enforcement. By integrating continuous compliance mechanisms, the firm intends to provide European clients with verifiable control over data placement. This expansion also includes a long-term strategy for university collaborations to foster local talent in secure digital operations and threat detection. For Ireland, the move reinforces its position as a strategic gateway for multinational technology firms navigating the evolving regulatory landscape of the European Union.
