Ottawa-based 49North has unveiled a major refresh of its Global Procedure Designer, a flight procedure software used by NATO and defense agencies. The upgrade aligns the established platform with current international regulatory criteria and data standards, aiming to streamline complex design workflows while maintaining long-standing operational reliability.
Developed over two decades, the software supports design requirements including ICAO PANS-OPS, FAA TERPS, and NATO MIPS. By automating intricate calculations and validating flight paths against real-time terrain and aeronautical data, the platform seeks to reduce development timelines and minimize human error for air navigation service providers."Global Procedure Designer is a proven, mission-critical capability trusted by leading aviation and defence organizations worldwide," said Joe Armstrong, President of 49North. The refreshed version maintains support for industry standards such as AIXM 5.1 and ARINC-424 coding, ensuring that organizations can sustain their repositories while adapting to shifting global aviation frameworks.
