Tiffany D’Amato, Vice President of Digital at Five Below, noted that the apps were designed to mirror the shopping habits of a customer base that increasingly relies on mobile devices. By moving to a native app environment, the company intends to foster long-term growth and provide a more cohesive discovery process for its shoppers.
The new software integrates directly with the existing Five Below commercetools stack to ensure performance and speed. Functional additions include a built-in price scanner for in-store use, personalized search tools, and location-aware features that notify users of nearby stock availability and seasonal product drops. Helen Slaven, Chief Revenue Officer at poq, stated that the partnership is intended to transform mobile into an owned channel capable of scaling alongside the retailer's business operations.
