The acquisition, which closed on September 30, 2026, marks a strategic expansion for Trading Technologies beyond its core futures and derivatives business. By absorbing TRAFiX’s technology, TT now provides a comprehensive suite covering fixed income, foreign exchange, cryptocurrencies, and global equities. The integration offers clients a unified architecture for risk management, regulatory reporting, and cross-asset execution strategies.
Justin Llewellyn-Jones, CEO of Trading Technologies, described the move as a transformational step that leverages TRAFiX’s existing footprint of over 200 global customers and connectivity to more than 100 trading venues. Walter Fitzgerald, CEO of TRAFiX, noted that the merger allows the combined entity to scale its low-latency execution and compliance tools for a broader institutional audience.
While financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, the deal positions the combined firm to compete more aggressively with legacy providers of fragmented trading software. Houlihan Lokey served as lead financial advisor to TRAFiX, while Berenson & Company advised Trading Technologies on the transaction.
