Alarum Technologies Faces Class Action Lawsuit Following FBI Probe

A 20.8% plunge in stock price on July 2, 2026, signaled the start of a volatile week for Alarum Technologies investors. Following reports of an FBI-led operation targeting the company's subsidiary, NetNut, for alleged involvement in malicious proxy networks, Pomerantz LLP has launched a class action lawsuit regarding potential securities fraud.

The legal action centers on allegations that Alarum and its executives engaged in unlawful business practices by allegedly linking home internet devices into proxy networks without user consent. The scrutiny intensified when Reuters reported a coordinated effort by Google and the FBI to dismantle infrastructure associated with NetNut and the Popa botnet. This news immediately wiped $2.67 from the value of each American Depositary Receipt.

The situation deteriorated further after Bloomberg revealed that the U.S. Department of Justice was investigating the company's role in masking digital locations through compromised residential devices. The subsequent market reaction saw Alarum ADRs plummet by an additional 61.85% over the next two trading sessions, closing at $3.06 on July 6, 2026. Investors who acquired securities during the relevant period have until October 5, 2026, to petition the court for lead plaintiff status.
