KMM Group specializes in complex, tight-tolerance components for the medical device industry. By bringing the company into its portfolio, RS2 aims to leverage its specialized focus on the lower middle market. RS2 partners Craig Stern and Patrick Furlong identified the manufacturer as a prime target due to its founder-owned structure and existing technical capabilities. The firm manages $1.6 billion in total capital commitments.
J. Mark King, who previously led Tegra Medical, brings three decades of experience to his new role. His transition is supported by the company’s founders, who remain in key leadership positions: John Shegda shifts to Chief Technology Officer to oversee engineering strategy, while Eric Wilhelm becomes Executive Vice President of Business Transformation and Organizational Capability. This leadership structure is designed to preserve the firm’s established manufacturing culture while scaling operations to meet increasing demand for advanced medical engineering.
